Overview

Maayan's is a hospitality group founded by Maayan Adin, elevating hospitality into immersive experiences where guests don't just attend — they create. We are hiring a Head of Operations to scale the business across New York City through new sites and repeatable operating systems, then support expansion into additional markets. This role will report directly to Maayan and will be supported by a strong group of advisors including hospitality industry veterans and exited tech founders.

Responsibilities

  • NYC expansion: Build and manage a pipeline for site selection, underwriting, and launch sequencing across NYC; prioritize rapid capacity growth with disciplined unit economics.
  • Real estate + deal execution: Lead negotiations for short-form pilots (license/short-term occupancy) and conversions into longer-term agreements; structure favorable commercial terms and protect downside through options, concessions, and operational flexibility.
  • Openings + buildouts: Own pre-opening programs end-to-end: scope, budgets, schedules, contractor selection, bid leveling, change orders, punch lists, and operational handoff; coordinate architects, expediters, trades, and production vendors.
  • Multi-site operations: Establish SOPs, QA, safety/compliance, materials/inventory flow, staffing models, and day-to-day operating cadence across locations; drive consistency, throughput, and cost control.
  • Team leadership: Recruit, train, and manage instructors and site leads; implement performance standards and operating rhythms.
  • Scaling playbooks: Build repeatable launch templates (site specs, build standards, vendor SLAs, staffing ramps, opening checklists) and own continuous improvement across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in operations within hospitality, nightlife, experiential, venue operations, or adjacent service businesses.
  • Experience coordinating vendors and contractors; comfortable owning schedules, budgets, and execution.
  • Demonstrated negotiation capability (leases/pilots, vendor MSAs/SOWs, change orders).
  • Operational rigor: ability to implement SOPs, track KPIs, and maintain quality standards at scale.
  • High ownership, strong attention to detail, and strong context-switching across parallel workstreams.

Preferred

  • NYC commercial real estate familiarity (deal structures, lease clauses, landlord process).
  • Event production experience (vendor-heavy execution, guest flow, run-of-show).
  • Restaurant or bar operations exposure (helpful, not required).

Maayan's Pottery — Lead our signature Mosaic Pottery sessions, guiding participants through creative activities in a fun, engaging environment.

Maayan's Pâtisserie — Lead our cake decorating workshops, where guests receive cakes and you walk them through decorating techniques step by step. No baking involved — this is all about the creative, hands-on decorating experience.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with confidence in guiding groups.
  • Feels very comfortable in public speaking and engaging with an audience.
  • Basic knowledge of various art mediums or decorating techniques and the ability to adapt quickly (no need to be an expert).
  • Comfortable facilitating discussions, providing creative direction, and assisting participants in developing their pieces.
  • Well-versed in design and art terminology with a rich vocabulary.
  • Proactive problem solver with a creative and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Prior experience in instruction, hospitality, or the arts is a bonus but not required.

Hourly-based role with the potential to grow with the business and work every night.

Schedule: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM daily, with weekend morning option 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This is not a traditional bar role — guests select a bottle of wine, and the bartender opens and presents the bottle. The focus is on warmth, presentation, and creating an elevated yet approachable experience for guests. No previous bartending experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Open and present wine bottles for guests; no pouring or mixing required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked wine bar area throughout each service.
  • Greet guests warmly, explain wine selections, and make recommendations when asked.
  • Monitor inventory levels for wine and bar supplies; flag replenishment needs to management.
  • Follow food handling and sanitation best practices at all times.
  • Coordinate with the charcuterie server, hostess, and front-of-house team to ensure smooth guest flow.

  • Ability to stay organized and composed during busy service periods.

  • Prepare and arrange artful cheese and charcuterie plates with attention to visual presentation and portion consistency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked charcuterie station throughout each service.

This role is bar-side — we do not have a kitchen — so you will be stationed at the bar area washing glassware, plates, and utensils used throughout the evening's wine and cheese service.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, sanitize, and dry all glassware, cheese plates, utensils, and bar tools throughout the evening.
  • Keep the bar-side wash station clean, organized, and free of clutter during service.
  • Return clean items to their designated stations promptly so service is never disrupted.
  • Assist with end-of-night breakdown, including wiping down surfaces and disposing of waste properly.
  • Monitor supply levels for cleaning products and notify management when restocking is needed.
  • Support the broader team with light tasks as needed during slower moments.
